Here's a glazed porcelain newt curled up among a couple reishi mushroom. Unsigned, presumably mid-to-late 19th century Hirado ware. It was hard to get consisent photos of this one. Under the glaze, circlular ridges on the mushrooms are visible, along with bumps on the newt's skin. This is another of my favorite porcelains, oweing to its compactness and the unusual choice of animal.
