Origin/Maker: Arita Imari ware, Arita, Japan. Maker's mark on base. Possibly Aoki Brothers, though the mark is slightly different. Aoki, Porcelain made in Arita. Full name: Aoki Kyodai-Shokai (Aoki Brothers Company) or Dai Nippon Hizen Arita Aoki-sei. The Aoki Kyodai-Shokai was founded in the 1890's by Aoki Jinichiro (1863-1955).

Condition: Item is used in good condition commensurate with age, see photos. Some tiny chips, rough spots, and light surface wear.
Subject: Hand painted red, gold, and underglaze blue and white (sometsuke) designs of islands, surrounded by flower patterns and the character "Fuku" (福, good fortune). There is a gold ribbon like pattern that was later used extensively by Fukagawa Seiji. The reverse has tako karakusa arabesque vine designs.
