Uchida 内田 - Late 19th century Meiji Period until Showa Period. Uchida were a merchant and manufacturer and likely branded Satsuma ware made by other factories alongside their own wares. They were located in Kobe, Japan.
Size: 2 1/2" tall (6.35 cm), 4" wide (10.16 cm), 5" long (12.7 cm)
Weight: 1 lb 0.9 oz (481 g)

Collected: Vendor at Pasadena City College Flea Market 4 FEB 2018 (my first visit!)
Condition: Item is used in good condition commensurate with age, see photos. No cracks or chips. Some light surface wear.
Subject: Box with painted designs of chrysanthemum flowers (kiku) on a dark cobalt blue glazed background. Interestingly, the bottom piece and the lid both have an original to manufacture old on the side that could line up when the pieces are placed together, but the painted designs only match up if the holes are placed on opposite sides.
