Origin/Maker: Kawai Takeichi (1908-1989, also called Kawai Bu’ichi, Kawai Bunichi, and Kawai Takekazu), the nephew of Kawai Kanjiro. Includes introduction paper for Takeichi. Not signed, as is typical for his work.

Subject: Clearly showing the influence of his teacher, uncle, and father figure, Kawai Kanjiro, the vase is decorated with impressed designs of chrysanthemums, with gosu blue, red, black, green, and kaki red brown glazes.
