Collected: PA auction 21 JAN 2024. At least three other Makuzu Kozan pieces were sold in this auction (besides this mostly unglazed statue of Daruma, there was an unsigned Satsuma style teapot with fruits, a Ninsei/Gosu blue Satsuma-style large bowl with flowers, and a celadon incense burner), but only one was identified as such in the description (a celadon incense burner; incidentally the only one of the bunch I didn't buy).
Condition: Item is used in good condition commensurate with age, see photos. Small chip at top edge of robe. Some light surface wear.
Subject: Daruma statue with glazed eyes and earrings, with body in a darker color than his white unglazed robe.
