Type: Katabori Netsuke
Material: Lacquered and painted carved macadamia nut shell. Wasp made from brass wire and mother of pearl shell.
Age:
Origin/Maker: signed RS (Ryan Snooks)
Size:
Weight:
Subject: Persimmon with wasp. This one probably turned out the best for the coloring and the details on the leaves. The two bits of shell on top are supposed to represent aphids (the persimmon I used as a model had a couple on top). I gave this one away as a gift. I messed up making one of the himotoshi holes and ended up with a much larger hole than I'd planned (luckily it was on the bottom). The last photo is of the persimmon I used as a model (my first persimmon was based on photos; having the real thing helped)
