Material: Porcelain
Age: Meiji Period (1868 - 1912) or older
Origin/Maker: Seto ware, Japan. Maker's mark on base.
Size: 1 1/4" tall (3.175 cm), 3 1/8" diameter (7.93 cm)
Weight: 2.1 oz (60 g)
Provenance: Seller on Yahoo Auctions Japan, together with a Makuzu Kozan plate and a Otagaki Rengetsu style sake bottle.

Condition: Item is used in fair condition commensurate with age, see photos. Kintsugi (lacquer gold repair) to one chip and one splitting crack. One spiderweb hairline crack. Two vertical hairline cracks to edge of cup.
Subject: Decorated with underglaze blue and white (sometsuke) designs of chrysanthemum flowers under a tree, with accompanying writing (probably a poem). The underside is decorated with three wasps or bees, possibly a reference to Daruma.
