Origin/Maker: Mashiko ware attributed to Sakuma Totaro (1900-1976), a Mashiko local and Hamada Shoji's first friend when he moved to the area. From Mashiko, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan.

Subject: Bamboo leaves with kaki red brown glaze on a blue green glazed background. The base was apparently molded on cloth. Square plates and cloth molded bases are common with Sakuma Totaro's work.
