Subject: Unusual wood netsuke of a side handled Japanese teapot (kyusu), likely modeled after a Tokoname ware ceramic pottery example, with red lacquer writing on the side. Note the ridges on the bottom imitating the spiral potter's wheel pattern on the bottom of wheel thrown pottery. The lid is removable and acts as the himotoshi (cord hole) loop.
