Origin/Maker: Kozan 古山, Asakusa School, Tokyo, Japan. Maker's mark on green signature block of 古山. Similar in style to works by Kokusai, one of the most famous Netsuke-shi, and the Asakusa School's best.

Condition: Item is used in fair condition commensurate with age, see photos. One of the pierced holes next to the lotus flower has a small chip with missing material, and the leaf stem on the base between the himotoshi is missing some of the material.
Subject: A ShiShi (Guardian Lion) decorated Mokugyo (Buddhist wooden gong or bell) sitting on a lotus leaf in the water, with a closed lotus flower resting next to the mokugyo.
